Welcome to my blog: Layman’s Law. My name is Ellie; I’m a law student and (hopefully) future solicitor, who believes everyone should have a basic understanding of the law, especially their rights!
This blog is my attempt to explain elements of the law in layman’s terms. Most of my posts will be short and jargon-free, explaining your rights as a UK citizen (and some of your rights if you are not a UK citizen) and giving brief overviews of legal processes, such as divorce, adoption and making a child arrangement order. As I am primarily interested in becoming a family lawyer, most of my posts will be focused on family law.
I hope they can be of use in making sure more people are aware of their rights.
